Martha and Mary:
Models of Action and Contemplation

Martha and Mary, friends of Jesus, have the cliset relationship with Him. When he feels tired and tense from his busy ministry, He goes to the two sisters to rest. Both of them have the qualities of contemplation and action. This seminar will help us balance our lives from the demands of our time so that we can choose as Jesus said, “the best part!”.

New Year’s Message of Sister Eppie

siseppieWe, the Dominican Sisters are having our Annual Holy Retreat at the Carmelite Center in Tagaytay. Please pray for us. We have entered our silent space. We assure you of our prayers especially as we prepare to welcome our Holy Father. I love the way he emphasizes our need to be cheerful and joyful. Check out if you have a funeral face! We share with you his advise to those living the Consecrated life: look back with gratitude, live the present with passion and look towards the future with hope. It also applies to all.
We wish you a beautiful, bountiful and blessed New Year 2015.

We keep you in our hearts and in our prayers. Mama Mary Regina Rosarii keeps u under her mantle of protection.

One with you in the eternal NOW,
Sister Eppie and the Dominican Sisters of Regina Rosarii

May I share with you

May I share with you. I was touched by the homily of Fr. Max Gatela, OP yesterday (January 6, 2015). The gospel reading was from Mark 6:34-44 and this was about feeding the 5000 not counting the women and children. And when the apostles told him to let the people go because it was already late. His reply was
“Give them some food yourselves.” This same order is given to us now.

And how much was there?

“Five loaves and two fish.” It will not suffice. Same here when we are asked to serve people what we have. What we have will never suffice but when we believe in God who will work through us, we will be surprised to see miracles happen. What became of the 12 baskets of extra bread and fish? Of course, Fr. Max said, they were given to the boy who gave up all he had, who shared the bread and fish. When we share what we have with an open heart. God provides with even more. Our God of abundance cannot be outdone in generosity.

At the beginning of the year we give you this challenge 88MMM what is this? Will you allow God’s miracles to work in you and through you?

What a coincidence

Migrants_Prayerweb_1When we attended the annual convention of the Association of Major Superiors in Tagaytay. Sr. Eppie was approached by the sister in charge asking her if she can make a prayer for the OFW and the migrant workers to which Sr. Eppie without hesitation said YES.

We then produced candles for OFW & Migrant workers. Part of what we earn will be given for the cause of the OFW & Migrant desk of the Association of Major Superiors.

Today Sr. Reice of the Scalabrinian Sisters saw Mama Mary on top of our building and immediately she asked if they can pray the rosary to our Lady Regina Rosarii. We answered YES you can and you are most welcome. So Reice and 20 OFWs came to pray.

What a coincidence because we did not know of Sr. Reice and her OFW & migrant workers, nor they ever knew of our pledge to help the OFW & Migrant workers desk of the AMRSP until just NOW.

Contemplative prayer

com

The only thing to seek in contemplative prayer is God; and we seek Him successfully when we realize that we cannot find Him unless He shows Himself to us, and yet at the same time that He would not have inspired us to seek Him unless we had already found Him.
